About Me

I am from your great city of Maquoketa.  I lived there 70 years.  Moved to Pella, Iowa in 2002 to be near family, my daughter grandkids and Great grandkids.  I do miss Maquoketa and all the fine people there.  When going back there to visit I always say we are going back home.

About Me

My name is Denise (Steines) Forney and I am originally from Jackson County.   I grew up on a farm near Springbrook, IA.   My parents and Jr. and Laura Steines from Bellevue.   I am proud to have represented our county as Jackson County Fair Queen in 1990.

I currently live in West Des Moines, IA and am an early childhood recordist artist.  Our family just released our first CD this April, called "Criss Cross Applesauce."   I hope that Dennis enjoys the songs on the CD and chooses to play them for his listening audience at KMAQ radio station.   One of my personal favorites is "Tic, Tac, Toe, X's and O's."   My children love "Hello Around the World."    We are in town July 1-3, for the 4th of July weekend.  We are playing at the Bellevue Public Library on July 1st at 10 am and again at the Andrew park at 1 p.m.   Both events are free to the public, and intended for children.   I would love the opportunity to come into your studio for an interview and promote our new CD if possible.    Let's keep in touch and thanks for the opportunity!    I loved listening to KMAQ as a kid, and I know my parents continue to enjoy your radio station.
